Eco-friendly Fashion Favourites

Eco-friendly cleaning isn't the only way to lower your impact on the environment. Who knew!? By now, you've probably heard of the impact fast fashion is having on global warming. As a result, many people are turning to good quality pieces that will last. But what's an even better way to reduce your carbon footprint? Buy good quality, eco-friendly & conscious clothing. Here are 6 of our favourites to check out!

Rêve en Vert

"Rêve en vert" means "dream in green" in French. We love this store because it's a marketplace of sustainable luxury (and also home and beauty products) fashion. Probably at the higher end of the price spectrum, but every collection is consciously-curated. So, if you're looking for that eco-friendly investment piece, or a dress for a special occasion, Rêve en Vert is the place to go.

P.i.C Style

This brand is produced in a factory near London and uses locally-sourced, eco-friendly materials like organic cotton and recycled fabrics. P.i.C Style is minimal: they're simple, but are unusual enough to stand out. This is a great brand for anyone who is eco-conscious and looking for everyday pieces with a bit of flare. They also sell accessories from other eco-friendly brands!

Ilk + Ernie

Based in Brighton, Ilk + Ernie is a quirky fashion label. They have vibrant prints and 'out-there' detailing. Not just vibrant, but their styles are beautiful. Great for a wacky outfit or just a statement piece with some minimal editions.

Komodo

Komodo is another UK-based ethical clothing brand. It formed out of an epic travel adventure in 1988. It is a pioneer brand in using organic cotton, hemp, bamboo and other natural fibres for clothing. Komodo clothe have been described as 'throw-on clothes'. Founder Joe Komodo said, ‘It’s a privilege of our civilisation to dress up in comfort and style, but it’s also the responsibility of today’s fashion designers to make that style fairly and sustainable for those who work on it – otherwise, you can only pretend it’s cool!’ We couldn’t have said it any better.

Mud Jeans

Apparently cotton is responsible for nearly a fourth of the world's insecticide market. This is why Mud Jeans has a mission to produce stylish, good-looking jeans sustainably. Some would say they've been successful having won several awards, such as the Sustainability Leadership Award and the Peta Vegan Awards. They have a wide range of different styles, from skinny to flares to mom-jeans and more!

People Tree

Having been around for over 25 years, People Tree has been doing this sustainable fashion thing for a while. Even though it isn't based in the UK, People Tree partners with Fair Trade producers, farmers and dressmakers to help people living in developing countries access fair opportunities. They use conscious cotton and aim to have as little impact on the environment as possible. People Tree have collections for both men and women, which both feature vibrant colours and unusual fabrics. Various notable figures, like Emma Watson, have worn People Tree!
