Even if you frequently clean your bathroom, chances are eventually it'll start to show some yellow stains. Yellow stains occur from general use and can happen to the best of our bath tubs. Many cleaning blogs will suggest strong chemicals to remove these stains, but we know a hack to do this with less-harsh ingredients! AND it's likely to already be in your kitchen cupboard.
Our eco-friendly bathroom cleaner will cut through any grease, grime and disinfect your tub. But if you need something stronger without harsh chemicals to remove mild stains, harsh stains and hard water stains, here are 3 methods that are fail-safe so far for us!
Mild stains
These are most likely to consist of yellow patches. Try this:
- Fill a spray bottle with half vinegar, half water
- Spray onto the problem patches
- Let sit for 15 minutes
- Scrub with a soft cloth or sponge
- Rinse and wipe off!
Harsh stains
If you've got some tough grime or darker yellow stains on your tub, try these steps:
- Fill a spray bottle with vinegar and water - aim for half of each
- Sprinkle baking soda over the rub then spray the vinegar solution on top of it
- Let the mixture do its stuff (let it bubble)
- The next step requires a bit of elbow grease: scrub with a soft cloth or sponge. Avoid using scourers or anything which might leave scratches on your tub. Scrub until a paste forms
- Let the paste work its magic for about 15 minutes then wipe off and rinse
- After rinsing, we'd recommend you clean with our bathroom cleaner before having a bath to make sure anything that could be harsh on your skin (like the baking soda) is properly removed.
Hard water stains
These might appear impossible to get rid of, but in reality they can be relatively easy to remove.- Soak paper towels in full-strength white vinegar
- Place the towels over the stained areas
- Let them sit for one or two hours at least
- Next, scrub the areas with the same baking soda and vinegar paste we used above
- Finally, rinse thoroughly and clean with our bathroom cleaner.
