Ways to boost your laundry detergent

We all have those moments where our gym clothes perhaps haven’t come out as fresh as we’d hoped, or the whites start to fade and our colours look a little lack lustre. So we’ve rounded up our top tips for when your laundry needs a little boost!

  • Baking Soda
It may sounds strange, but baking soda really can brighten whites and inject some vibrancy back into colours! Try adding a ½ cup of baking soda to your wash! We wrote a post on baking soda and how to use it in laundry.

  • Lemons

If you have any mineral discolouration or rust stains on your clothes, then pour a cup of lemon juice into the washer during the wash cycle. The natural bleaching action of the lemon juice will help to remove the stains!

  • Vinegar

Vinegar isn’t just for your fish and chips! It’s actually and incredibly versatile cleaning solution! To use it in relation to your laundry add a cup of white vinegar to your washers rinse cycle! A single cup of vinegar can kill off unwanted bacteria that may be present, especially if your washing things like cloth diapers. It will help to keep clothes soft and can help to brighten white clothing!
We’ve written a post about vinegar and how you can use it in the home, here!

  • Mouthwash

Yes, another surprising one on the list! But if you have stubborn gym wear that won’t get fresh then add a cup of alcohol-based, sugar free mouthwash to the regular wash cycle!
